How the maths works and what still needs checking
  1. Care hours = care hours per family × number of families.
  2. Care delivery = care hours × hourly delivery cost.
  3. Delivery support allowance = care delivery × the support percentage.
  4. One-off setup is added once to each option.
  5. Extra cost allowance = (care delivery + support allowance + setup) × the extra percentage.
  6. Total pilot cost = all four lines added together.
  7. Funding still needed = total pilot cost − family contributions − funding already available.

Still to check: a fully costed hourly rate (pay, holiday, pension, insurance, training, supervision), realistic travel time across Manchester, safeguarding checks, cover for sickness, and which families would qualify.
